Cuatro días después de ganar en los National Board of Review, "No country for old men" es considerada por los críticos de Boston como la mejor película del año. Bardem se resarce de la derrota en los NBR y se lleva el premio a mejor actor secundario, la primera distinción que se lleva en la temporada de premios.

La otra gran triunfadora ha sido "The diving bell and the butterfly" que se lleva los premios de mejor director (un Julian Schnabel que ya veo entre los cinco finalistas al Oscar), mejor fotografía y mejor película de habla no inglesa.

Marion Cotillard vence como mejor actriz y Langella como mejor actor. Primeras distinciones para estos dos actores. Segundo premio, por el contrario, para Amy Adams que ya venció a Cate Blanchett en los National Board of Review y esta vez ha vuelto a ganarle en la categoría de mejor actriz secundaria.
