"There will be blood" y "Juno" son las dos grandes triunfadoras de estos premios. La película de Paul Thomas Anderson se lleva cinco premios, y "Juno", cuatro. "No country for old men" pasa casi inadvertida: sólo triunfan Bardem como secundario y guión adaptado. En el top10 del año, destaca la ausencia de "Sweeney Todd", que tampoco recibe honor en alguna otra categoría. "Michael Clayton", otra de las películas alabadas este año por la crítica, también desaparece de la lista. Como apunte, hay que mencionar que este es el segundo año consecutivo que gana Ellen Page como actriz entre los críticos de Austin. El año pasado ya se lo dieron por su papel en "Hard candy", superando incluso a la todopoderosa Mirren.
