"Into the wild" resurge de sus cenizas y se convierte en el film más nominado con 7 menciones (incluyendo mejor película, director y actor). "Juno" es la segunda más nominada con seis menciones. En mejor película, se han metido las diez favoritas para la nominación (coinciden con nuestro último termómetro. Como mucho, podemos destacar la ausencia previsible de Charlie Wilson´s war). En director, destaca la ausencia de Paul Thomas Anderson. Sí está Joe Wright ("Atonement") pero ni Keira ni McAvoy ni el guión han logrado nominación ("Atonement" ha recibido un total de 5 nominaciones, las mismas que "No country for old men"). Denzel Washington se cae de la lista de mejor actor, donde tampoco está Fran Langella y sí Viggo Mortensen y Ryan Gosling. En actriz protagonista a la ausencia de Keira hay que sumar la de Laura Linney. Bardem está nominado como mejor actor secundario con sus máximos rivales, por lo que no ha habido gran novedad en la categoría. También está nominada "El orfanato" y destaca la ausencia de "Persépolis" en la categoría de mejor película de habla no inglesa. Alberto Iglesias se aleja de la nominación al Oscar tras volver a ser ignorado.
