Sorpresas en la categoría de mejor actor donde no están ni Depp (ni "Sweeney Todd" en general), ni Hirsch ni McAvoy. Como mejor actriz tampoco está Keira Knightley.

Nominación para "El orfanato" como mejor film extranjero. Bardem también consigue la nominación como mejor actor secundario, pero Alberto Iglesias no está nominado como mejor compositor (una vez más, "The kite runner" queda fuera de toda categoría)

El film de Sean Penn, "Into the wild" se resarce del olvido hasta ahora de la crítica y consigue tres nominaciones incluyendo mejor película, aunque se esperaba más de la cinta.
